Pre-book the most suitable and affordable hotel in Chiang Mai online
Posted by paul on October 8th, 2008 filed in tourist tipsMost of Chiang Mai’s first-time visitors simply select a good hotel establishment either through a travel shop or via the internet without doing some research to figure out what other opportunities are available. Sometimes this might turn out to be a big disappointment for travellers as when they arrive here to realise how much better their hotel could have been for the same, or even less amount of cash. Just make a little time free to investigate what the best deals are before you book your holiday. You should realise what type of accommodation is the best option with regards to your budget.
Because of Thailand’s relatively low living costs, the hotel rates are, in general, significantly lower than similar quality at numerous other tourist hotspots. This absolutely doesn’t reflect on the overall offered standard that, thanks to the Thai people’s natural kindness, is often rather exceptional even at the market’s lower end. Below is a helpful and useful guide explaining what holidaymakers can expect from the accommodation they wish to book.
First-class
Thailand ranks steadily among the world’s top holiday destinations. The country boasts some of the best hotel establishments on the globe such as the internationally acclaimed Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok or Phuket’s first-class Amanpuri with its superb private beach area. Obviously these kinds of lodging establishments aren’t aiming at backpackers and, although pricy by the standard of many travellers, compared with similar European and American hotels they still offer the cheapest rates.
Thai hospitality is certainly one field in which the country usually exceeds other countries’ standards. With the renowned cuisine, friendly smiles and exceptional politeness and service no-one can beat the Thais with making a foreign guest feel special and comfortable. Combining excellent services, good rates and the sometimes jaw-dropping locations these establishments are blessed with, have made spending a holiday in Thailand one of the favoured choices for international honeymooners. Chiang Mai isn’t short of excellent hotels
Premium
The Thai owned and managed up-market establishments usually offer high levels of comfort at surprisingly low rates. Expect outstanding guestrooms in wonderful or at least ideal settings for much lower prices than similar hotels in most other nations. In this class you shouldn’t experience any difficulties finding an excellent hotel. Some of these venues can even rival the first-class establishments particularly in the hospitality field. However, it is highly recommended to read guest reviews and browse the better hotel booking websites as in this price range there are a number of over-priced hotels as well. Chiang Mai premium hotels
Tourist-class
In this price range you can get some great deals. Most of these are small independent accommodation establishments that mostly have everything a guest should need. Usually they’re facilitated with amenities such as satellite TV, bar & restaurant, air-conditioning, garden and swimming pool. In this category there are numerous hotels and guesthouses available while many offer well appointed rooms with service-driven staff. Chiang Mai mid-priced hotels. However, I’ll say it again you should take time to read the customer reviews and investigate several of the better booking services on the web.
Budget
If what you are looking for is just a place to sleep than it is possible to stay in a clean guestroom with a fan for around 350 baht a night. For a rate just a little higher, depending on where and when you stay it may still be possible to get, in a small hotel, a comfortable air-conditioned guestroom. Perhaps there’s even a swimming pool available. Chiang Mai budget hotels

I think this is a great site with lots of good information on Chiang mai. One of the great areas for back pakers and budget accomodation seekers is Moonmaung Soi 9. This is a very pretty floral street, just 10 minutes walk or only 40 bht by tuk tuk to the Tae Pae gate area with all the night life. excellent accomodation at THE BRITANNIA. with good food and good fun. Also they give bargain prices on trekking and cooking classes. Other budget guesthouses includ OK Guesthouse and The alie guest house.
