Chiang Mai Night Safari

The Chiang Mai Night Safari is a fantastic way to discover all the unique, rare and exotic wildlife to be found in the Chiang Mai area. Chiang Mai Night Safari was officially opened to the public in 2006, and is the world’s third nocturnal zoo, and was originally built by the government to promote tourism in Chiang Mai. It clearly was an excellent idea!

To put this zoo into perspective, the Chiang Mai Night Safari is 2 times bigger than the Singapore Night Safari – the world’s first night safari. This place is huge, and is jammed packed with amazing attractions. As soon as you enter the imposing main building of the zoo, you will be blown away by its size and stature.

The zoo is divided into 3 main zones, meaning there really is something for everyone. The Savanna Safari Zone is the first zone, and features mostly animals from the African Savanna, including more than 320 animals such as wildebeests, giraffes, and zebras.

The second zone is the Predator Prowl Zone, where visitors can see around 27 species of carnivores such as tigers, lions, and even crocodiles. The third zone is particularly exciting, and offers a walking trail around a lake. This zone has in excess of 400 rare species such as white tigers.

The Chiang Mai Night Safari also has accommodation attached to it. It is open each day and charge 500 baht for adult entry, and 300 baht for children. This is a must see attraction in Chiang Mai!
